Foster, Donate, Adopt
Animals are euthanized at a large rate at animal shelters due to over -crowding. The majority of these animals are healthy, adoptable animals, but because of a lack of space their lives are cut short. We rely on fosters to help us save lives!
“Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day. It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.”
― John Grogan, Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World’s Worst Dog
When AZ CARE rescues our dogs and cats, they sometimes have a surreptitious history abound with abuse, confusion and of never knowing a true home. At times, we rescue from the street, from the shelters, or directly from an individual in dire needs. The hope for all is a permanent home for these dogs and cats to grow old and be lavished with love.
Because AZ CARE does not have a facility in which to provide protection for these animals – yet – we rely on fosters to take the cats and dogs in. Becoming a foster can provide a learning environment for your children, a chance to help these pets find their forever home in a caring home , and allowing the dog or cat to socialize with other people and pets.
Do you have what it takes?
An area of your home that can be dedicated to the animal(s).
Time to spend with the pets (especially the younger ones)
Love and compassion
Cat and Dog friendly pets
AZ CARE will help with guiding you through how to take care of the pets, questions that arise and veterinary care. Becoming attached to the dog or cat can be difficult when the pet is adopted out, but knowing that we are diligent in placing them into loving homes should help you feel proud of being part of their life. Of course foster failures – aka adopting the pet you are fostering – can happen, so we will always consider YOU first.
